Blog on FDI and International Trade by Alphabetical Order https://www.rozen-bakher.com/search-blog-1

This blog focuses on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and International Trade in a certain country or territory in terms of how the Location Factors (Political, Economic, Technological, Ecological, Legal and Cultural) and Entry Modes (e.g. M&As, Export and Greenfield) impact the attractiveness - or vice versa - the risks of FDI and International Trade in the certain country or territory, still, keep in mind that each risk may lead to an opportunity for resolving problems via suitable FDI and International Trade, while each opportunity for FDI and International Trade may involve risks.

Disputed Colony between UK vs. Argentina vs. Self-Determination of Falkland Islands

Distance from Falkland Islands to UK: 12,777 Km (Straight line distance Capital-to-Capital in Km, Map Developers)

Falkland Islands has been a British Colony since the 17th century, yet over the centuries, other countries (e.g. France, Spain) took control over the Falkland Islands for limited period, still, it has led to repeated conflict with Argentina that tried to take a permanent control over the Falkland Islands, a conflict that even escalated to the Falkland War in 1982 between Argentina that invaded the Falkland Islands and the UK that sent British troops to preserve the British control over its far colony, resulting in retake the British control over the Falkland Islands, although, the conflict over the Falkland Islands between Argentina and the UK remains until today, regardless of the discussion about the right for self-determination of Falkland Islands, based on UN resolution about Decolonization. Currently, Falkland Islands has the sovereignty status of British Overseas Territory namely, Falkland Islands has an  appointed British Governor who acted as the Head of State, but on contrary to other British Overseas Territory, Falkland Islands has not have an elected Chief Minister who supposed to act as the head of the local government, but instead, Falkland Islands has an appointed British Chief Executive who serves as the head of the local government with the appointed British Governor, still, Falkland Islands has an elected local parliament that advice to the appointed British Governor and appointed British Chief Executive.

The Sovereignty Dispute of Falkland Island

In 2013, the majority of Falkland Island voted in a referendum to remain British, but Argentina did not accept this referendum by claiming sovereignty over Falkland Island, still, Falkland Island has the right for self-determination based on UN resolution about Decolonization (see the 3 sources below).
